Hi, my name is Ilana,

I was born in Ukraine, however when I was 7 my family decided to move to Israel. I came to Canada when I was 12 and have lived here since then. I am currently a University student, going into my third year of Honours Bachelor of Human Resources Management program at York University. While attending York University I have already received an academic excellence and achievement scholarship twice. My interests include dancing, recreational outdoor activities like canoeing and rock climbing, as well as visual arts.

Another of my passions is makeup, as I’m currently working as a beauty expert in a beauty boutique of one of the new Shoppers Drug Marts, where I often give skin care consultations and do makeovers. I first heard of this contest two years ago, and I attended it in Wonderland. I was very impressed by the contest, which seemed like a great and meaningful experience to its participants. This year, my best friend encouraged me to try out, and I’m grateful to her for that, since I have never tried anything as exciting! This experience seems to boost confidence in people, while allowing them to make new discoveries about themselves and meet new interesting people. I wan to try it!
